Bybit Regains Operations in India After Compliance with Authorities

Following a registration with Indian authorities and the resolution of penalties, Bybit is resuming operations in the country. The move follows the exchange’s January 31st penalties totaling ₹9.27 crore ($1.06 million) for violating India’s Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), as enforced by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). Bybit’s website was blocked by FIU-IND due to continued non-compliance with Indian regulations. The exchange had previously suspended services in the country a few weeks before these penalties, citing concerns about regulatory compliance.
