OKX Faces Financial Penalties for Money Laundering Lapses Across Multiple Jurisdictions

Crypto exchange OKX has found itself entangled in legal and regulatory scrutiny, facing multiple fines from various authorities. The latest incident involves Malta’s Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU), which imposed a €1.1 million penalty on the exchange for failing to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations during a routine inspection in April 2023.
