Senate Agriculture Committee Proposes CFTC Regulation for Digital Commodities

The Senate Agriculture Committee has unveiled a bipartisan draft proposal giving the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) authority to oversee spot trading of digital commodities, effectively closing a major regulatory gap in U.S. cryptocurrency policy. The proposal builds upon the CLARITY Act, which passed the House with strong bipartisan support earlier this year.
