China Alleges US Involvement in $13 Billion Bitcoin Heist

China’s National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center (CVERC) has leveled serious accusations against the U.S. government, alleging they played a role in a massive Bitcoin theft from the LuBian mining pool worth approximately $13 billion. The allegation claims that hackers exploited a cryptographic flaw and stole 127,000 bitcoins belonging to Chen Zhi, the owner of LuBian, in 2020. If true, this would be one of history’s largest cryptocurrency thefts.
