Bitcoin Shows 1.99% ‘Kimchi Premium’ in Korean Market on November 12

On November 12th, Bitcoin recorded a 1.99% premium known as the ‘kimchi premium’ within South Korea’s cryptocurrency market. As of 12:00 AM KST that day, BTC traded at 155.33 million KRW on Upbit, with a slight decrease of 0.94% compared to the previous day. On Binance, Bitcoin was priced at 152.30 million KRW, showcasing a price difference of 3.03 million KRW and an associated kimchi premium of 1.99%. Ethereum (ETH), the leading altcoin, exhibited a kimchi premium of 1.92%. Other major altcoins also demonstrated similar premiums, with Solana (SOL) at 1.96%, XRP (XRP) at 1.97%, Dogecoin (DOGE) at 2.06%, and Shiba Inu (SHIB) at 1.72%. A majority of the top altcoins currently carry a premium in the 1.7% to 2.0% range.
