India Skips Crypto at Global Fintech Fest, Focuses on Digital Rupee

The biggest fintech event in India this week steered clear of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, instead focusing on the country’s own digital currency, the e-rupee. Over 100,000 participants from more than 100 countries flocked to Mumbai for the Global Fintech Fest, with notable speakers including policymakers and industry leaders. Despite Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high above $125,000 this week, no mention of the cryptocurrency was made during the event, reflecting India’s cautious stance on digital assets.
