Infini Exploiter Liquidates Ethereum Holdings Amidst Price Surge

The infini exploiter continues to shed their holdings of Ethereum, selling another 1,771 ETH for $7.44 million at a market price of $4,202 on August 11th. This recent move comes after the hacker stole over $49.5 million from the Infini protocol in February 2024 and has since strategically cashed out millions more. 2024 has seen significant price increases for ETH. 1,770 ETH were sold on July 17th at a price of $3,321 per coin for a total value of $5.88 million, while another 4,501 ETH worth $15.03 million was transferred to Tornado Cash—a privacy mixer often used to mask the origin of crypto funds. 9,154 ETH are currently held by the hacker, with an estimated value of $38.85 million at current prices. Law enforcement and blockchain analytics firms continue to monitor the transactions, but the exploiter’s use of privacy tools makes tracing their funds challenging.
