Australian financial advisor Glenda Maree Rogan has been banned from working in the financial services industry for a decade after being found guilty of defrauding her clients by diverting their funds into a crypto scam. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) revealed that Rogan misled investors about where their money was going, telling them it was being invested in high-yield fixed interest accounts when in fact it was sent to cryptocurrency wallets controlled by Rogan herself. This led to the theft of $9.6 million from clients between March 2022 and June 2023. The ban follows a thorough investigation by ASIC, which has brought several cases involving crypto scams to light in recent years.
