House Advances Bill Blocking Federal CBDC Development Amid Privacy Concerns

The U.S. House Financial Services Committee took a significant step towards restricting federal banks from utilizing or issuing Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) by advancing the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act. The bill passed with 27 votes in favor and 22 against on April 2nd, paving the way for a full House vote.
