Bybit Launches Bounty Program to Combat Lazarus Group Theft

Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has taken an aggressive stance against the Lazarus Group following a massive theft valued at over $1.5 billion last week. Bybit is offering a 5% bounty to individuals and platforms who assist in freezing stolen funds, launching a dedicated bounty program called ‘Lazarusbounty.com’. The platform allows users to sign up as bounty hunters and receive rewards for tracking down the stolen assets. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou emphasizes the importance of transparency on the platform, showcasing the identities and response times of actors involved in facilitating illicit transactions. The company aims to deter further activity by those aiding Lazarus in laundering funds.
