Bitcoin Surges Past 1.7% Global Money Share Amidst Fed Rate Cut Hints

Analysis by River, a Bitcoin financial services firm, indicates that Bitcoin’s market capitalization has surpassed 1.7% of global money supply, encompassing various fiat currencies and gold’s market value. The company utilized a $112.9 trillion basket of fiat currencies alongside $25.1 trillion in hard assets (excluding silver, platinum, and palladium) to calculate this figure. While Bitcoin reached a peak market cap of $2.4 trillion earlier this August, its current market cap sits around $2.29 trillion, resulting in a 1.66% share of global money at the time of writing. This rise signifies Bitcoin’s increasing appeal as investors seek alternative assets amid inflation and a decline in purchasing power from fiat currencies.
