The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has once again pushed back decisions on several proposed cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF) applications, extending review deadlines into October. This follows a pattern of delays this year for altcoin-related ETFs, with the SEC typically taking its full review period before making final rulings. The extended deadlines affect Truth Social’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF from NYSE Arca, Solana’s spot ETF application from 21Shares and Bitwise, as well as 21Shares’ Core XRP Trust. The delays come as demand for crypto ETFs surges, with Ethereum funds hitting record highs and BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust holding its market leadership.
