Solana Announces Alpenglow Upgrade: Aiming for 150ms Block Times

The Solana blockchain network is about to undergo a major upgrade, called Alpenglow (SIMD-0326), that could dramatically reduce block validation time. This update will shift the current processing time from 8-12 seconds to a mere 150 milliseconds. The decision to implement this change rests with community voting during Epoch 840-842, and requires two-thirds of the votes for success.
