Early Ethereum Investor Secures 14,000x Return After 10 Years

A dormant Ethereum wallet associated with an early investor has experienced a remarkable return after a decade of inactivity. On-chain data reveals the investor transferred 334.7 ETH, currently worth roughly $1.5 million, from their initial investment during Ethereum’s 2014 ICO to a newly created wallet. This move represents a potential gain exceeding 14,000x at today’s prices, should the investor choose to cash out.

The dormant wallet’s resurgence follows a trend of long-dormant wallets across the cryptocurrency space, including recent activity from Bitcoin investors that have moved large sums of Bitcoin. This reemergence coincides with growing interest in Ethereum for institutional investors, particularly those seeking exposure within their portfolios as they enter their second decade. The Ethereum market position has remained largely stable with Ether currently trading at approximately $4,426. US-based spot Ethereum ETFs experienced record inflows last week, reaching over $2.9 billion and nearly matching the volume of Bitcoin ETFs, demonstrating increased institutional investment in the cryptocurrency.
