U.S. Dismantles BlackSuit Ransomware Network, Seizing Assets and Interfering with Criminal Operations

The U.S. Department of Justice, working with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), has dismantled the BlackSuit ransomware operation, a major threat that affected over 450 U.S. businesses. This action involved seizing servers and assets linked to the organization’s activities, resulting in a total of $370 million in ransoms collected. This is a significant step in addressing the growing threat of ransomware attacks on critical infrastructure sectors like healthcare and education.
