Ripple Aims for Resolution as SEC Case Nears Settlement

After years of legal disputes, Ripple Labs and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are close to a potential settlement that could end their long-standing litigation. The parties have proposed a settlement agreement to the court, aiming to expedite resolution through bypassing lengthy appeals. As part of this proposal, Ripple will release $125 million in locked funds, allocating $50 million to settle with the SEC while retaining the remaining $75 million. Legal analyst John Deaton predicts a high likelihood (70%) of this settlement being accepted by the court.
