India Cracks Down on Crypto: CBDT Sends Notices to Millions Over Undeclared Income

India’s tax agency, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), is launching a major investigation into individuals and businesses who haven’t reported income from virtual digital assets (VDAs) like cryptocurrencies. Thousands have received notices demanding they update their tax returns to reflect any unreported VDA transactions.
