SEC Rescinds Key Crypto Regulations Under Trump Administration

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has reversed several proposed rules aimed at the cryptocurrency industry, a move signaling a shift in regulatory approach under the current administration. The agency rescinded 14 proposals introduced during the Biden administration, including regulations targeting digital asset custody and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. The SEC’s withdrawal of these measures indicates a departure from the stricter regulatory framework established by former Chair Gary Gensler.
