Pakistan Invests in Bitcoin Mining, Aiming to Boost Digital Economy

Pakistan has announced a groundbreaking plan to utilize its surplus electricity generation capacity for bitcoin mining and AI data centers. This initiative aims to address energy waste and accelerate the country’s digital transformation. Pakistan will use around 2,000 megawatts of idle power currently not being utilized due to low demand, especially during winter periods when consumption drops significantly.
