ECB Tightens Stance on Interest Rates as Inflation Stabilizes

The European Central Bank (ECB) is signaling a potential end to its series of interest rate cuts, with inflation edging closer to its 2% target and economic growth showing stability. ECB Executive Board member Isabel Schnabel stated that the bank’s current rate-reduction cycle is nearing completion due to stabilizing inflation levels around its desired benchmark. She highlighted that the long-term inflation forecast for 2026 and 2027 remains at 1.9% – precisely within target range.
