SEC Pursues Regulatory Exemption for DeFi Platforms

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is considering a new policy to exempt decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms from strict regulations. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins announced the initiative at a cryptocurrency roundtable, stating that staff are tasked with exploring rule modifications that would offer regulatory exemptions for on-chain financial systems. This move aims to facilitate the rapid development and launch of DeFi products by entities under SEC jurisdiction.
