Human resources software company Deel is facing accusations of corporate espionage following claims from a former employee of competitor Rippling who confessed to spying on behalf of Deel’s CEO, Alex Bouaziz. An Irish court affidavit reveals that Keith O’Brien, the former employee, admitted to receiving €5,000 monthly for providing confidential information about Rippling, including strategies, customer insights, and internal communications. He reportedly claimed Bouaziz encouraged him to remain at Rippling and act as an informant, comparing his role to a spy like James Bond. These payments were allegedly coordinated through Deel CFO Philippe Bouaziz and often made using cryptocurrency.
