Cetus Protocol Resumes Operations After $223 Million Exploit

The Sui-based decentralized exchange, Cetus Protocol, has resumed operations following a significant $223 million exploit on May 22nd. Despite the attack’s impact, the protocol has successfully recovered a substantial portion of funds ($162 million) and restored liquidity to affected pools. A crucial $30 million loan from the Sui Foundation further bolstered Cetus’ financial recovery. The affected liquidity pools have been replenished with an estimated 85%-99% of their original value, with remaining compensation in the form of CETUS tokens, a process spanning over twelve months.
