Nasdaq Eyes Expansion of Crypto Index to Include XRP, Solana, Cardano

The Nasdaq has filed a proposal with the SEC to expand its benchmark cryptocurrency index, adding Ripple (XRP), Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), and Stellar Lumens (XLM) to its existing list alongside established cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). This move aims to address discrepancies between the Nasdaq Crypto Index and its corresponding ETF, Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF (NCIQ). The NCIQ currently tracks a modified index due to regulatory restrictions on including non-US-compliant assets. This expansion would align both indexes and potentially enhance the NCI’s tracking of 9 crypto assets.
