Tigran Gambaryan Exits Binance After Resigning Amidst Regulatory Scrutiny

Former Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan has officially resigned from the crypto giant following his return to the United States. Gambaryan announced his departure on June 6, citing a desire to continue impacting the industry through work in law enforcement and compliance. He believes that with the increasing convergence of cryptocurrencies with traditional finance and national security concerns, expertise and understanding are needed for successful collaborations between technology, enforcement, and regulatory bodies. This career transition comes after Gambaryan was detained for eight months before being released from Nigeria in October 2024, following an intense international campaign for his release by Binance executives, human rights groups, crypto leaders, and US lawmakers. He claims he wasn’t responsible for company decisions despite facing charges of money laundering and tax evasion in Nigeria’s case against Binance.
