U.S. Employment Numbers Revised: March and April Show Contraction

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently released revised non-farm employment figures for March and April, revealing a downward trend in job creation. Initial estimates showed an increase of 185,000 jobs in March, which has been revised down to 120,000. This adjustment represents a decrease of 65,000 jobs from the initial report. Similarly, April’s employment figures saw an upward revision with an initial estimate of 177,000 jobs, now showing 147,000 jobs. This change signifies a reduction of 30,000 jobs compared to the previous assessment, resulting in a combined decrease of 95,000 jobs in these two months.
