Public companies are increasingly embracing Bitcoin as a strategic asset, fueled by a recent surge in corporate Bitcoin holdings. This trend is directly linked to pro-crypto policies under the Trump administration and ongoing regulatory changes. The shift has been accelerated by new accounting rules that allow companies to include unrealized gains from Bitcoin on their balance sheets, making investment in cryptocurrencies more attractive. Notably, the number of public companies holding Bitcoin has surged from 312,200 BTC a year ago to over 809,100 BTC now, a nearly three-fold increase, worth approximately $85 billion as of May’s end. This adoption is further supported by supportive regulatory actions and the increasing acceptance of cryptocurrencies within institutional finance.
