DOJ Seizes $7.74 Million in Crypto Tied to North Korean IT Workers

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has taken action against individuals allegedly involved in illicit activities involving cryptocurrency linked to North Korea. In a recent civil forfeiture complaint, DOJ officials seized approximately $7.74 million in digital assets, including stablecoins and Bitcoin, believed to have been earned by North Korean IT workers who used fake identities to gain employment at blockchain companies as remote contractors.
