Bitcoin Mining Companies Face Patent Lawsuit Over Cryptography Use

Malikie Innovations has filed a lawsuit against major Bitcoin mining firms Marathon Digital and Core Scientific, alleging they are infringing on patents related to Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) that Malikie purchased from BlackBerry in 2023. The lawsuit claims these companies utilize ECC methods protected by the patents, raising questions about the legality of their operations within the cryptocurrency space.
