Upbit Enables First Legal Charity Cryptocurrency Sale in South Korea

South Korea’s cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit, has facilitated the nation’s first legal sale of cryptocurrencies by a non-profit organization. World Vision Korea, an international humanitarian NGO, sold approximately 0.55 ETH (valued at $1,436) on Upbit through its Korean Won (KRW) market, marking a significant step forward for charitable crypto adoption in the country. This milestone follows the regulatory shift from the Financial Services Commission (FSC), which permitted qualified non-profits and exchanges to liquidate digital assets under strict compliance requirements.
