Bitcoin and Altcoin Prices Surge with Over 2% Kimchi Premium in South Korea

On June 3rd, Bitcoin prices showed a dip of 1.70% on Upbit, the South Korean exchange, while trading at 146.57 million KRW. The price saw a notable gap between global exchange Binance and Upbit with BTC priced at 143.38 million KRW, resulting in a price difference of 3.19 million KRW, contributing to a Kimchi Premium of 2.22%. Ethereum (ETH), the leading altcoin, exhibited a Kimchi Premium of 2.11%, while other major altcoins also saw notable premiums: Solana (SOL) at 2.26%, XRP (XRP) at 2.23%, Dogecoin (DOGE) at 2.10%, and Shiba Inu (SHIB) at 2.21%. Top altcoins are currently experiencing a premium of 2.1% to 2.2% on the South Korean market.
