Pakistan Allocates 2,000 MW for Bitcoin Mining & AI Data Centers

Pakistan is taking a bold step towards digital transformation by allocating 2,000 megawatts (MW) of surplus electricity to fuel bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. The initiative, driven by the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) and supported by the Finance Ministry, aims to capitalize on idle energy resources while creating economic opportunities for the nation. The move signifies a shift away from traditional energy management methods and towards leveraging surplus power for high-growth sectors like cryptocurrency mining and AI computation.
