The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has seized a significant amount of cryptocurrency, approximately $24 million, linked to Rustam Rafailevich Gallyamov, the mastermind behind the notorious Qakbot malware network. This seizure highlights the ongoing global effort to dismantle cybercrime networks. While it may have impacted the wallets of those involved in illicit activities, it didn’t significantly disrupt major crypto markets or DeFi systems, such as Bitcoin and Tether.
