Sui Blockchain Hack Yields Major Losses for DEX Cetus

A decentralized exchange built on the SUI blockchain, Cetus, experienced a significant hacking incident, resulting in losses exceeding $11 million. The attacker exploited vulnerabilities within the SUI/USDC liquidity pool and withdrew millions of SUI tokens. This incident has resulted in a sharp decline in value for numerous altcoins listed on the platform. DEX Screener reports that over 80% of top 15 cryptocurrencies have lost value due to the hack, with some tokens losing nearly all their value. Notably, approximately $52 million worth of SUI, along with substantial amounts of other altcoins like Haedal Staked SUI (HASUI), Toilet (TOILET), and wrapped USDt (USDT) were targeted in the attack. 🇨🇳 The attacker also allegedly swapped the stolen tokens for Etheruem, gaining approximately $24 million. 🚨 CZ’s Intervention! Binance founder Changpeng Zhao offered assistance to SUI following the hack. “We are doing our best to help SUI,” he stated on Twitter, emphasizing his commitment to providing support during this challenging time.
