Germany Misses Out on Billions in Bitcoin Profits After Early Sale

The German government reportedly missed out on approximately $2.3 billion in potential Bitcoin profits after selling a portion of its holdings in June and July 2024, according to blockchain intelligence firm Arkham. This was revealed as the government sold roughly 49,858 Bitcoin (BTC) worth over $2.89 billion at an average price of $57,900 through multiple transactions. Experts speculate that these early sales caused a loss exceeding $2.35 billion according to crypto intelligence platform Arkham.
