Revolut to Invest $1.1 Billion, Target 10 Million French Users

Financial technology giant Revolut is setting its sights on France with a multi-faceted expansion strategy that includes a €1 billion investment and the goal of doubling its user base there by late 2026. The company plans to establish a new EU headquarters in Paris, creating at least 200 jobs over the next three years. Revolut’s move comes as France becomes their largest European market with five million users. Key aspects of this expansion include: securing a French banking license to offer wider financial products under French law; hiring more staff in France for operations, compliance, and product development; launching Bitcoin Lightning Network support through Lightspark for U.K. and select EU users; and achieving a tenfold increase in its user base by late 2026. This strategic expansion aims to strengthen Revolut’s position as a leading digital banking service provider across Europe.
