Filecoin and Lockheed Martin Send Data into Space Using Decentralized Protocol

A collaboration between the Filecoin Foundation and Lockheed Martin has successfully transmitted data into space using a version of InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). The technology, demonstrated at Consensus 2025 in Toronto, utilizes IPFS to store data on a satellite orbiting Earth. This move represents a significant step towards decentralized data storage in space environments.
