Stablecoins are poised to play a pivotal role in attracting institutional investors to the crypto market, according to experts. Ash Pampati, head of ecosystem at the Aptos Foundation, highlighted their potential during his interview at Consensus 2025 in Toronto, noting the U.S.’s imminent adoption and borderless nature of stablecoins as key drivers. He pointed out that stablecoins offer a streamlined alternative for cross-border payments, unlike traditional methods like wire transfers. This efficiency is further enhanced by their role as a hedge against fiat currency volatility prevalent in emerging markets. 71% of respondents in Latin America, surveyed by Fireblocks, utilize stablecoins for international payments, with half anticipating cost reduction compared to conventional financial systems. 86% of respondents are confident they can integrate stablecoins, reflecting the industry’s preparedness, while 75% acknowledge customer demand for these solutions.
