Hong Kong Strengthens Virtual Asset Security with New Measures

The Hong Kong Police Force’s Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau is bolstering security within the city’s virtual asset ecosystem. Chief Superintendent Lam Cheuk-ho emphasized a shared responsibility among exchanges, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the sector. To enhance investigative capabilities, the bureau partnered with the University of Hong Kong to develop CryptoTrace, an advanced analysis tool that provides valuable intelligence for crime investigations. Moreover, a dedicated anti-fraud team has been established in the New Territories South region to combat fraud activity.
