Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, warns of a new wave of scams targeting crypto startups. According to PANews, these fraudsters are utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to fabricate videos of him and use them in deceptive tactics. These schemes involve gaining access to the Telegram accounts of Polygon Ventures head Shreyansh Singh, then leveraging stolen connections with unsuspecting startups to lure victims into Zoom meetings. During these sessions, AI-generated images of Nailwal, Singh, and fictitious team members were displayed without audio interaction, ultimately tricking participants into installing malicious software development kits. Several entrepreneurs have contacted Nailwal for verification, prompting him to advise the community to exercise caution in unsolicited interactions by avoiding unfamiliar software downloads and highlighting the need for strong operational protocols. He urges users to separate wallet signing activities from everyday device usage, asserting: ‘These attack methods are becoming increasingly sophisticated so the best practice is to use a dedicated laptop solely for wallet signing operations and absolutely not use it for anything unrelated to wallets.’
