At a press conference at Gracie Mansion, Adams announced collaboration with Figure founder June Ou and Traction and Scale CEO Richie Hecker, who will advise the city on its future steps in using digital assets for economic development and public service. Adams emphasized a long-term vision, stating that New York is open to businesses within the crypto, blockchain, Web3, and fintech space. He dismissed short-term trends, highlighting the focus on utilizing these technologies for the betterment of the city’s people. 70% of his assets are in Bitcoin, although he stated the value was higher in December 2024.
