European Leaders Propose 30-Day Ceasefire with U.S. President Trump

European leaders have proposed a complete and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya. During a phone call initiated after their meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany, President Emmanuel Macron of France, Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the UK spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss this proposal. Kyslytsya explained that Ukraine and its allies are prepared for a ceasefire across land, air, and sea, commencing on the 12th of [month] and lasting for at least 30 days. He added that if Russia agrees and can effectively monitor this truce, it could pave the way for lasting peace negotiations and trust-building measures.
