SEC Commissioner Slams Slow Approval Process for Bitcoin ETFs

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce has sharply criticized the lengthy approval process for spot Bitcoin ETFs, calling it ‘severely mismanaged’ in a recent podcast discussion. She voiced her dissent with the SEC’s rationale for approving an ETF in 2024, deeming it ‘weak’. According to Commissioner Peirce, regulatory hurdles and ongoing lawsuits are impacting the process, urging investors to remain patient as other crypto ETFs await approval and more regulatory developments unfold. Currently, approximately 80 applications for crypto-related ETFs remain under review by the SEC.
