Class Action Lawsuit Targets Xcotton Over Unregistered Extended Warranty Services

A class-action lawsuit filed in San Francisco Superior Court on April 23, 2025 (CGC-25-624694) accuses cross-border warranty provider Xcotton Co. of selling and administering extended service contract plans to Californians without obtaining the required Service Contract Administrator registration mandated by the state. If certified as a statewide consumer class action, all purchasers since 2021 who are not opted out will be automatically included in the case, potentially resulting in Xcotton being forced to refund collected premiums and face an injunction halting further sales until it is properly licensed and its contract forms are filed with the court.
