Singapore-based 0G Labs has unveiled the latest version of its testnet, Galileo, featuring a revolutionary upgrade that boosts network speed by 70%. This move brings the blockchain closer to its mainnet launch and promises groundbreaking capabilities for developers. 0G’s V3 testnet incorporates a host of improvements, including increased transaction throughput up to 2,500 TPS and enhanced EVM compatibility. The new version provides faster processing speeds through CometBFT consensus enhancements while maintaining similar finality times as the previous iteration. Developers can leverage the latest EVM capabilities from Shanghai and Cancun-Deneb for more sophisticated smart contracts and optimized data handling. V3 also supports the upcoming Pectra features, ensuring a smooth transition for users of 0G Storage and 0G Compute products. This new testnet requires developers to use new test tokens and update their smart contracts. However, existing users won’t need to change their code as these products will be updated to ensure V3 compatibility. The CEO of 0G Labs, Michael Heinrich, emphasizes that the release unlocks a future-ready environment for web3 development, giving developers access to EVM functionality coupled with compute, storage, and performance they have been waiting for. 0G’s V3 testnet offers a faster, more scalable, and future-proof platform for building AI-powered applications and promises to be the foundation of a new wave of data-intensive services.
