U.S.-Ukraine Deal Grants Investment Rights in Natural Resources

The United States and Ukraine have finalized an agreement granting U.S. firms preferential rights for investment in newly developed resources, including aluminum, graphite, oil, and natural gas. This move by Kyiv seeks to secure support from President Trump as the two countries negotiate a ceasefire with Russia. The agreement is viewed as a strategic step to strengthen ties with the U.S., which aims to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine after three years. During a White House cabinet meeting, President Trump emphasized, ‘We have reached an agreement, our funds are secure, and we can begin excavation work. This will benefit them too – Americans being present in these areas will deter potential interference by undesirable parties.’
