Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas provides an update on the prospects of U.S. SEC approval for spot cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs). He revealed that a number of popular crypto ETFs, including Litecoin (LTC), Solana (SOL), XRP, and others, have high chances of gaining regulatory approval by 2025. Balchunas expressed optimism, stating he expects the SEC to provide further clarity on this matter soon. According to his analysis, these projects hold an impressive approval probability: a crypto basket ETF (90%), Litecoin (LTC) (90%), Solana (SOL) (90%), XRP (85% – with an important update due April 21st), Dogecoin (DOGE) (80%), HBAR (80%), Cardano (ADA) (75%), Polkadot (DOT) (75%), and Avalanche (AVAX) (75%). The SEC’s potential classification of crypto assets as commodities is a crucial factor driving the approval process. These ETFs could facilitate broader cryptocurrency accessibility through established financial channels, opening doors for more investors to participate in this sector.
