Ledger Users Targeted by New Scam: Fake Letters Seek Recovery Phrases

A recent scam targeting cryptocurrency users has emerged, with scammers utilizing fake letters bearing the official Ledger logo to steal recovery phrases. These malicious documents falsely claim a ‘mandatory security update,’ aiming to deceive users into sharing their sensitive information. The letter instructs users to scan a QR code and enter their 24-word recovery phrase, all while employing threatening language and warnings of restricted access to funds if verification isn’t completed. Ledger has confirmed that these letters are not associated with them and have issued a clear warning against sharing personal data with anyone claiming otherwise.
