Gemini’s Winklevoss Criticizes Oregon Attorney General’s XRP Lawsuit

Tyler Winklevoss, co-founder of Gemini crypto exchange, has publicly rebuked Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield following the state’s lawsuit against Coinbase. This action comes in response to the suit alleging unregistered securities and targeting XRP trading on Coinbase’s platform. Winklevoss criticized the lawsuit as baseless, arguing that it contradicts a key federal court ruling from 2023 which concluded that XRP is not a security when traded publicly. He accused Rayfield of wasting taxpayer resources and undermining clear legal precedent by challenging a decision already settled at the federal level.
