U.S. Treasury Bond Purchases: Investment Funds and Foreign Investors Show Activity

Recent U.S. Treasury data reveals a dynamic bond market with investment funds engaging in significant purchasing activity. Data from Odaily shows that investment funds acquired $26.25 billion in 10-year Treasury bonds maturing on February 15, 2035, slightly down from the previous month’s $26.954 billion. Foreign investors also showed increased activity, buying $7.17 billion of these same bonds compared to last month’s $4.636 billion. Investment funds significantly reduced their purchases for 3-year Treasury bonds maturing on April 15, 2028, with $39.73 billion purchased compared to the previous month’s $44.782 billion. Foreign investors also bought $4.74 billion of these bonds, a slight decrease from last month’s $4.912 billion. Investment funds increased their purchases for 30-year Treasury bonds maturing on February 15, 2055, purchasing $16.2 billion compared to last month’s $15.436 billion. Foreign investors also witnessed an increase in these long-term bond purchases, buying $2.33 billion compared to last month’s $2.14 billion.
